Thanks dad!

I was so lucky to get my dad for the weekend!  I feel bad I didn't get any pictures with Bridger and Grandpa.  But I did take a picture of my mud room.

I put him to work while he was here!  My pantry was in bad shape.  Several months ago the shelves fell and some of my bottled peaches broke and it was a mess!  So I have been waiting on Devin to fix it... but he thought it had seen its day, with all the moves it has taken a bit of a beating.
Well my dad loves projects and I mentioned something about how bad my pantry was and he jumped right on it.  We drove down to Lowe's and he got some screws and a new board to go on the back, because it had a really flimsy board before.  Driving home from Lowe's was hilarious and slightly nerve racking.  We were in the Maxima and the boards didn't fit.  My dad was sure he could make it work though.  So it ended up that the boards (about 7.5 feet tall) were sticking straight up out of the front passenger window.  It looked really funny.  I should have gotten a picture of that too.  I sat in the back seat, leaning out the window, trying to hold onto the boards as we drove 20 mph down the freeway, hoping the wind wouldn't pull the boards right out the window or snap them in half.  It was a huge relief when we made it back to my apartment without getting pulled over and the boards whole.
My dad really made over my pantry.  It is now very sturdy with the shelves screwed in, the new back board and if there were an earthquake it would stand solid as a rock because he attached it to the wall as well.  He moved a shelf over in the mudroom and rearranged so my pantry could fit on the same wall.  Before it was so cramped and now it is spacious and just beautiful!  I stop and gaze in every time I walk by.
