We are so excited about our new house! Earlier in the summer I had nearly resigned myself to the idea of signing another year in our town house. For our price range, we couldn't find many options to rent. Then all the sudden a house popped up on Zillow and it had a beautiful yard. We had decided to go for it when we were offered another good house with even more room inside! They were both really good options, both of them in Herndon, and in the ward we love. We had a hard time deciding what to do, and sometimes I've wondered if we made the right choice. But I know we will love the house we will be moving to!
The house we chose has a garage for Devin, a fenced in yard for the kids, and a lovely kitchen for myself. We will be very close to several of our good friends and just across the street from the neighborhood pool. I'm excited for the extra space: four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a big basement, and plenty of storage space. We'll finally be able to have friends over and host game nights! If you haven't made the trip to Virginia for a visit, now is the time! (even if you have, its time to come back again!)
Next week is the start of our move... then its limbo time for about two weeks until we can move into our house. From August 2 - August 15 we will be homeless! As luck would have it, we have friends vacationing for a month in Europe who have said we can move into their home. We are blessed to have such good friends who will take us in for a while!
So my boxes will be sticking around. It is a little weird packing up knowing it will be at least three weeks before I can unpack. A little tricky too, as I am trying to decide which food stuff to pack and what we will need to eat. We will pack suitcases with our clothes and take a box of things we will still need to use like laundry detergent. The nice part of this deal is it allows me a little break from packing/unpacking... since I can't be arranging my new house all we can do is play! I am planning to spend many hours at our new pool and make lots of play dates with friends!
I can't say how excited I am about having a house to live in! Finally, we won't have to worry about how our noisy kids might disturb or wake our neighbor below us! Finally, Bridger can go outside on his own to play! He has started stealing away on his own and taking off down our side walk on his bike. It is so hard for him staying cooped up inside. It will be nice for me hopefully to get a little more done inside, while my kids can get their energy out on their own outside, and I won't have to worry about them so much (especially when I spend so much time nursing). And I have this idea that with more space, everything will have an assigned place to go and my house won't seem so cluttered. I am really looking forward to it!
We will just have to manage a few more weeks in boxes first.
