My Bridger boy had his fifth birthday! He has been looking forward to turning five for years! Ever since he was three he was telling people he was five. The most exciting part of all is that he knows he gets to ride the bus to school this year! (How did he get so big??)
| You know it's your birthday when you get ice-cream for breakfast!! |
What kind of cake you get on your birthday is a big deal! At first he wanted a rocket ship, then he wanted a balloon, he finally decided on a pointer dog with a leash and a balloon on its collar. No big deal (??!).
With the help of the internet, Devin, and my mom, we came up with this! And he loved it!
The best part of any party is always the friends who celebrate with you! We were so lucky to have my mom, dad, and sister Amy fly over for the party, and our good friends the Tanners with us!
So many presents!

Bridger really does like to sleep in different ways. I'm not sure what started this strange habit. He has fallen asleep in the laundry basket, on the rocking chair, laying backwards on his bed with the sheets pulled back over him, on the floor in his pillow or under a box propped as a tent... Half these positions can't be comfortable, yet he always manages to fall asleep. One morning I asked him how he slept, he replied "Great! I only fell off the chair once!" I didn't even know he slept on the rocking chair that night. I usually I move him back into his bed when I think he must be uncomfortable, but sometimes he waits until after I tuck him in to move into his position. Funny kid!

| He tucked in all his doggies. |
He really wants a speedy Pointer dog. For a while he couldn't decide what pet he would want the most. So he asked me to check out some books from the library "with all the different kinds of dogs and all the different kinds of cats, because I can't decide which I want more." After looking through all the different cat and dog breeds he decided he definitely wanted a dog! At first he liked all the small terrier dogs the best, until I read the caption under the Pointer dog, which said it is a good hunting dog. Bridger got this impression "I want a hunter pointer dog. Because you can take it hunting and when it sees a deer, it turns around and points it's tail at it!" He is hilarious.
"Look! A squirrel!" He and Myra are always teasing, pointing out the window, or up on the roof where our sky lights are, making us look for squirrels. Then they say, "Ha ha, I tricked you!" They think they're hilarious.
Bridger has a new skill. Knee slides. He runs and jumps on his knees to slide across our hardwood like its a trampoline. The holes he has gotten in the knees of all his jeans are not hilarious.

Since teasing is pretty much mandatory when you are a big brother, Bridger is fulfilling his role. I quite often pull random toys out of Sawyer's shirt that Bridger has put down his back. Bridger also has a funny idea that Sawyer is just a baby name and he is going to outgrow it soon. "When Sawyer gets big then he'll need a different name!" really? hilarious
Dear Bridger,
Thank you for being such a good boy. I love how you try so hard to choose the right every day. You are a great big brother, and even though you love to tease, you take really good care of Myra and Sawyer. I can't believe you are really five years old! This year you will be able to go to Kindergarten! And I know you will love it because you love to learn. You are such a sweet boy and I love your hugs, but you have a habit of trying to tackle me every chance you get. You have a perfectionist gene in you, but I don't mind when you mess up. Just keep trying. I think you are great!
Thanks for being my boy!
Mom
