Devin found and caught a baby rabbit while he was mowing the lawn. He became our pet for the day. They kept him in a box, tried to feed him carrots and lettuce, and gave him constant love and attention. "Yea! Now we have a pet!" Bridger exclaimed.
We released our turtle back into the wild. The kids were outside playing with her and a while later I noticed she was missing from her cage and the kids had run off. When I mentioned the turtle they made a mad search, but Roxy had escaped to find her new home. Can't say I was too upset.
Caterpillars also make good shoulder pets. Bridger caught one, and he will stick it on his shirt and let him hang on. Myra said it really tickles to have a caterpillar on your nose.
