Today was not a particularly special or unique, nor was yesterday... but they were both eventful in and of themselves. Bridger always makes each day exciting so, although this post may not be super intriguing, I wanted to write down some of our days events so I can remember.
Today started off with a morning shower for myself. I never know what I will find when I get out of the shower. Leaving Bridger free to roam and do as he pleases for that amount of time is scary. Usually I find the garbage or laundry baskets emptied. Today he found some fun things to entertain him from off my dresser... there were cards scattered across the floor and a really pretty drawing Bridger had done himself, with several different colors in crayon on the wall of my bedroom to greet me.
Next I got my haircut by a friend who came over to my house. Bridger was so good the whole time. He didn't bother us, he entertained himself by running back and forth down the hall and played with his toys in the front room. At least so I thought... when I could get up from my chair and peer into the front room I discovered the true reason behind his apparent goodness... He had taken the cereal box, from off the table, without my noticing, and scattered Captain Crunch all across the carpet, on the TV stand, and dumped the remainder of the box on the couch.
Yesterday was a beautiful 61 degrees! Bridger and I took the opportunity to walk in the sunshine to the library. The library is only a half mile down the trail from our house, so really not that far, but I'm having to learn that its not all about the destination, because there is a lot of fun to be had along the way, and that half mile may take us a half hour. Bridger followed every rule: running with sticks, hiding behind bushes, taking the hard to tread paths or deciding to change directions and go the other way, coming almost right when I asked but first running up and down the small hill multiple times, and not putting up any fight when I took his arm to help him along, only dragging his feet, not taking a single step so I could exercise my muscles, and then being so nice to let me recover as he simply sat on the path.
We finally made it to the library. Bridger first went to his favorite hiding spot, the space in between the bookshelf and the window. He loves it back there. Then he found a basket on a desk with a stack of papers inside. He made a game... Have you ever heard of "52 card pick-up"? He improvised with the papers... He grabbed a handful and did a wonderful throw, scattering them all over the floor. After we got done playing that game, I decided it was time to leave. As we were going to check out, he wanted to explore behind the counter and then quickly decided on tag... as I came to tag him, he looking back and laughing, ran right into a cart! Ha ha, that resulted with a bonk, but a funny game!
Can you find Bridger? :)
