Penny Fun

Bake Sale
I told the kids they needed to come up with their own fun. That resulted with Bridger's idea of selling hot chocolate. It was super cold outside, so it was the perfect day for drinking hot chocolate, but I tried to tell him that not a lot of people would be walking around outside because it was so cold. He was undeterred. Myra saw him making his hot chocolate and wanted to take part too, so we made some cookies for her to sell. They were so excited. They helped make the signs, and carry out the table and stools, and sat outside in the 39 degree weather waiting for customers. When their first ones came they were so excited and ran back in the house to tell me (and find some change)! They stayed out until Bridger had sold all the hot chocolate and Myra had sold most of the cookies. And though they were selling them for pennies, they came home with $8.50. They were thrilled. Since Bridger figured he had more money than Myra already, he gave her the extra 50 cents when they were divvying up. She made $4.50 and he made $4.00. Pretty good for an hour's worth of shivering.

Our only snow storm this year! School was cancelled.
Sawyer riding his "horse."

 Hammock fun!

Riding a train. Myra made him a paper ticket.

He played in this tree for an hour during B's football practice.

Some times a dog needs quiet time too.
The kids take good care of Booey. Before going to bed, they snuggle with him, rub him, tell him how much they love him, and tuck him in. Sometimes Myra will cover him with her pink blanket. Sometimes Bridger gives him a stuffed animal to sleep with. Much of the time I put him outside at night. There have been a few times Myra has woken up in the middle of the night, called for Booey and when he doesn't come, she gets up and lets him back in the house. Spoiled dog.

Penny fun.
Literally. This ride is 1 cent.
We drove to Harris Teeter just to ride the ride.

 Virginia Rainy Days

Frying Pan Farm.
My kids always beg to live on a farm. This is as close as we come.
It's free and nearby.

This is what I live with. A bunch of crazies.
