Myra
"Pancakes again?! Why do we always have pancakes for breakfast? I want oatmeal!"
"When I grow up I want to be a queen and a mom."
"I really like to talk a lot, so if you want to talk, just tell me and I'll talk to you."
Face-time conversation w/ grandma: "Do you remember what my room looks like? Do you remember what the basement looks like?"
"Show me your dad's face.. I don't remember what your dad's face looks like..."
"Here it is, it never falls off."
Debbie Doo (our favorite YouTube entertainer) says, "Bye for now!"
Myra, giggling "She thinks my name is For-now".
"Momma, why did you want to be a mom when you were a little kid? Is it because you wanted them to cut up your belly?" Then thinking, "Is it because you wanted them to cut up your belly or is it because you like kids so much?"
Myra "I want to grow all the way up to heaven"
Bridger "Then you'll have to eat squash."
Myra loves to sing. Praise to the Man has been one of her favorites lately and she has me play it on the piano and she likes to sing it over and over again. Each family night she chooses the same song.
Recently we have been reading a lot of library books about growing gardens and she has learned that plants need good food/soil, sunlight, and love to grow. She asked me if she sang to them if it would help them grow, "Sure!", so she did.
These boots.
Myra was hurrying to put socks and shoes on her feet before her friend left so she could run outside and tell her goodbye. And a traumatic event occurred... She told Bridger this story...
"I was hurrying and I saw my boots downstairs. So I put one foot in my boot and it felt funny so I took my foot out quickly. Then I put my hand in to see what it was and it felt weird so I pulled my hand out. But I didn't want to leave it in there so I put my hand in again... and do you know what I pulled out? A slug! A slimy slug! So I threw my boot down and I am never ever going to wear those boots again!"
Haha. I was unsuccessful at holding back a laugh when through tears she got some of that story out. Immediately after finding the slug she dissolved, and came to the door just wailing as I told our friends goodbye. I couldn't figure out why she was so upset. It was only after Bridger got home from school (after she'd been crying for about 30 minutes), that she was able to get the full story out. She saw the humor in it then.
Myra filled the miniature bathtub, toilet, and sink with caterpillars. She had to keep them outside but she made sure to give them plenty of mint leaves to eat.
Mommy daughter date. It was so fun to go to Beauty and the Beast together and get extra cuddles during the scary parts!
He can be such a little stinker! Literally... we are still potty training him. A few days after his 3rd birthday he learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. I said "You're getting to be a big boy!", then right away he ran inside and went potty. H seems all these big boys things must go together. And as he is a big boy now, he has again found his independence. Taking himself on bike/trike rides down to the pool or around the block without telling anyone. Stinker.
But, he is also the sweetest of my children. While I'm holding him he'll give me big hugs and patting my back he says, "Thank you momma. I love you momma. You're a nice momma."
Me "Is it time for bed?"
Sawyer "No, its time for hugs and kisses!"
"Ca-Buzz!" (Because)
He has a thing for eating butter. He sneaks licks whenever he gets the chance...scooping it out of my butter dish with his fingers, he'll eat it by the handful.
He likes hiding. And he is good at it! Sometimes I really can't find him and have to trick him into saying something. He scoots himself under beds, hides under laundry baskets, crawls under covers... He thinks it is so funny! And it is, except when we are at a department store.

When this little boy gets hungry...
Apparently mom was too slow getting breakfast on the table. Sawyer got resourceful. Found the corn in the fridge, sliced the package open, and ate bites of four out of the eight ears of corn.Trouble maker...
Maybe it's inevitable that, when the window without a screen gets left open, something like this will happen. Sawyer, very happily occupied, emptied all of Myra's drawers out the window. Then he added a few more things on top like a box of crayons, books, and his very own blanket.
Then (on another day) he did the same thing in his room, emptying all of his and Bridger's drawers into a big pile.
Later that day he used the dust pan to empty the dirt out of my just planted flower pot. Apparently he thought the cooler was a better place to keep the dirt.
One day he took all of my shoes from my closet and circled them in a ring in his room, then he stacked them in a big pile.
Many of our walls/doors have Sawyer's mark left on them. Crayons, makers, and pens are dangerous tools in his hand.

Bug lover... Notice the cicada...
And the caterpillar...
His favorite things... cowboy boots and his tattered green blanket. Who needs pants?
Bridger
He can't decide if he wants to be a vet, a cowboy, or a hunter.
Sleeps in his raccoon hat.
Loves his moose hat (trucker hat with a picture of a moose on it).
Asks me every night if I will scratch his back while he goes to sleep.
So proud of what he's built out of his Lego collection...
He'd been working on it for a week straight.
Our tooth fairy nearly got fired!
A sad boy woke up to find his tooth still under his pillow. My Bridger boy is forgiving though and he gave her another chance, but not without a price ;). (This was about a year ago).
