My dad flew in to see the NATS play. We planned to got to the game on July 3, when we could stay to see the fireworks. We decided to take everyone but Sawyer. I was super glad Devin could come with us, especially so I didn't have to navigate DC on my own. We got there, waited in line to get in, and then I realized my mistake. I had purchased the wrong tickets! It was one of my worst mistakes. I had one correct ticket, but all the other tickets were for July 4th. Oh man! The game was sold out too. Terrible. I felt so bad. So we hung out in the fountains, making up relays, playing hand clapping games and anything else we could think of to entertain the kids so we could hang out until the fireworks went off. After all, we had already paid for parking. And the fireworks were pretty spectacular.
The next day, we went to our ward's pancake breakfast for the 4th and then hurried back into DC for the afternoon baseball game!
And this time, our tickets worked!
Unfortunately, we could hardly enjoy the game because it was so hot! We spent much of the time in front of these misting fans.
And we left early, and ran through the fountains on our way out.
Next time I will double check my purchase before I click 'done'!
