Easter Eggs

We had a fun little Easter Egg hunt the Monday before Easter.  Most of the little boys close to Bridger's age were able to come hunt eggs with us at the park.  They were lots of fun to watch!
I love all of their expressions!

Finding all the candy filled eggs!
The gnats were a terrible element to our party.  It was their first day out this Spring and they came out in full force.  In my opinion, they are Virginia's biggest pest, which is impressive since they are so small.  Even with those pesty bugs, we had a lot of fun!
We should have got a picture of all the moms, but then, we were all busy helping our little boys hunt around, and none of our boys have been taught how to take pictures properly :-).

Egg  Coloring
We were so lucky to have Katelyn here with us for our egg coloring party!  She made it all the more fun!  Bridger was way interested in coloring eggs, but I was so torn between wanting him to have fun doing it (because it was, after all, for him that we were doing it), and trying to keep him from making a mess, that I probably best demonstrated a split personality, encouraging him and scolding him all at once.  He was really good at dropping the eggs on the floor... so many of our pretty eggs ended up cracked.
My little chick!
Katey loves Virginia!
This is embarrassing.  I forgot how long is needed to hard boil eggs.  So I googled it and picked the top result, where it gave directions for the perfect hard-boiled egg that is never over-cooked.   I agree on the second part. . . however they were quite a bit under-cooked.  Bridger dropped this one on the floor.  Gross.  So I tried to boil the ones we hadn't colored yet a little more.  I really don't know why it didn't work, but we didn't eat any of them.  I had to throw them all away because instead of hard eggs they were all goopy.  Yuck.
Bridger liked covering his eggs in stickers.
Our lovely eggs :).  They are fun to color once a year!
