SPARTAN

We ran over ten miles and cleared 75 obstacles to make it to the finish line on Saturday. This was our first Spartan race and we are now big fans! It is similar to a tough mudder (from what we hear). Someone next to me called it a cross-country race on crack, and that is sort of what it felt like.
The race took place on a horse steeple chase field so we jumped all sorts of crazy logs and fences. In the beginning we ran up a hill that kept going and going and going. It weeded everyone out right away. We packed a weight as we ran around a loop, pushed huge tires over, climbed up rope ladders and over and back down, pulled a cement weight around a loop (tractor pull), rolled in the mud under barbed wire, bunny hopped over logs with a rubberband around our legs, climbed up a rope, . . . Any time we couldn't conquer an obstacle we had to do 30 burpees!
It was crazy. It pushed us the the extreme. We loved it! It took Devin and I just over two hours to complete it. We're signed up to do it again next year!
Pre-race shot!  We're excited!
Burpees!  I slipped off the monkey bars so I had to do a bunch of burpees before moving on.
Pics of the obstacles but of no one in particular
Rob and Devin (just past the half way point in the race)
Brandon and Sarah running into the finish and trying to dodge the toothpick guys.
The muddy team!

Hosed off and clean!
