He had some initial shyness about going on the potty this morning, but I reminded him that he needed to show his bear how to do it, and after that he was pretty happy to go.
Overall today was a MUCH better day than yesterday as far as him staying dry. Today he only went through three pairs of underpants, opposed to the seven pairs yesterday. One of his accidents was probably my fault. We were out for too long where there were no public restrooms and just as we were jumping in the car to head home, he got that worried look on his face, which resulted in him having to sit on a plastic bag on the way home, but he did warn me right before he had his accident.
We also went to the library this afternoon and picked out some books about going potty! While we were there he had to use the restroom. We checked our books out and got all the way to the car, when he told me he had to go potty! So we ran back up stairs to make use of the facilities again. When we got back to the car, he said "Potty!" I think he just really liked that toilet. I made him wait until we got home to use it again.
And who knew we could have so much fun in the bathroom? We hung out in there a lot today. The toilet is Bridger's new favorite seat for story time. I read him lots of stories as he sat on his throne and we sang lots of songs.
Also supplementing our potty training week are potty videos from YouTube. Bridger has a new favorite clip from Sesame Street about going potty. He asked to watch it over and over and over today. If you google "Sesame Street Potty", the first two clips are his favorite. They are pretty catchy tunes. . . :) The things we do as parents. . .
