He likes to run

If you have ever wondered why Bridger is so skinny, a look into his daily activities may give you a clue. . . The other day I decided to count how many laps he took, looping through our entry way, living room, and kitchen.  Running laps is one of his favorite activities.  So I counted. . .  In one burst of energy he took 30 laps.  That was right after a mile bike ride.  He probably would have run more if I would have joined in.  He helps me get my exercise too.

He likes trying on my running shoes, shuffling over to me he says, "I'm going to go on a run!"  Or sometimes he'll try Devin's shoes on and say "I'm going to go to work! See you later".
He also enjoys watching the kids on our corner outside lining up for the bus.  So sometimes he will put on his backpack and say "Bye!  I'm going to school!" and he opens the door and pretends to leave.
Other things
He has gotten super fast on his little Strider bike. I can only keep up with him if I run. He speeds off, rides several yards ahead, stops and laughs as he looks back at me, and then speeds right off again.

Devin taught Bridger how to pretend he is asleep.  So he spontaneously collapses on the couch, floor, or half way through a meal, snoring loudly, eyes closed and breathing heavily just to re-awaken minutes later.  It can be hilarious or annoying, but we have discovered he can do sleep-eating when he falls asleep at the dinner table.

Bridger is nearly always the first one to greet Myra when she wakes up.  When he hears her cry, he yells "Myra's awake!  I've got to go get her!" and he makes sure to beat me up the stairs.  When I come in he is usually talking to her (in a high, soft voice), "Hi Myra.  How are you?  It's okay... Mom's coming".

Devin discovered the trick to get him to run happily into nursery is a piece of gum.  On the trial week, Devin gave his nursery teacher the stick of gum, with Bridger watching, and told him to give it to Bridger if he was happy.  Ever since (it has probably been at least 3 weeks) he goes happily into nursery as he tells us he will be happy and won't cry.

He has a big sweet tooth.  This morning I came downstairs to find him sitting on the floor with his hand in the brown sugar and traces of it around his mouth.  Anytime we have candy around the house (generally after holidays), he will find it and make a way to get to it.  This morning I came downstairs to find him sitting on the floor with his hand in the brown sugar and traces of it around his mouth.
October 25th I wrote: The top of the fridge used to be my safe zone where I could hide things I didn't want Bridger getting a hold of. Today Bridger spotted the bag of Halloween candy (meant for our ward's trunk-or-treat), he pushed the kitchen chair over, climbed on top of the counter, pulled off the unopened package of candy, opened and started to eat the candy. I caught him with his mouth full. Gotta say, he's a smart kid! Now I have to find a new hiding place.

He is my super helper.  He helps me cook and clean.  He is great at unloading the dishwasher... he hands everything out to me.  He pulls up a chair and sorts the silverware all by himself.

What a sweet older brother he is. Gracie and Bridger are very similar in their love for running. Gracie never walks anywhere, its always running. I wish they could play together like they used to. We'll just have to look forward to another visit. Miss you guys!
