Leprechaun Fun

Holidays are fun for me when I can see the excitement of my kids. This is why, the night before St. Patrick's Day, I told Bridger all I know about Leprechauns: they are very tiny people, (and sneaky!) and they hide their gold at the end of rainbows. I told him if we catch a Leprechaun he will give us all his gold. So we fashioned a very sophisticated Leprechaun trap. We know Leprechauns are attracted to rainbows, so we took colored pipe cleaners, twisted them together and formed them to look like a rainbow. Our rainbow sat on top a tissue box, and we had cheerios lined up for bate to lead the leprechaun to hop onto the tissue box, and fall into the hole! Then Whaalah! He would be stuck in our box for us to find in the morning!
Unfortunately, I told Bridger about St. Patrick's Day pinching for not wearing green all about the same time as the leprechaun.  He came away with the idea of a mean, tiny, leprechaun man who comes pinching little boys when they sleep if they forget to wear green pajamas! I tried to convince him that Leprechaun's don't pinch people, but that idea was already stuck in his head, and he went to bed still nervous about the Leprechaun.
In the morning my kids woke up to rainbows! Apparently this little Leprechaun was hopping all around our house and he hopped so much he started loosing fruit loops out of his pocket (which my kids call rainbow cheerios). Bridger quickly decided this leprechaun business wasn't so bad after all! That Leprechaun outsmarted us though (probably to Bridger's relief), he took our bate but didn't fall into our trap. Bridger and Myra happily cleaned up all the rainbow cheerios he left behind, and finished off the chocolate gold at the end of each rainbow as quick as possible.
Myra is wearing her favorite PJ's, she says they are "birthday cupcakes"!
We had green spinach eggs and green smoothies for breakfast! And Bridger's new favorite that night was green jello!

Oh my goodness... I didn't realize how much Myra looks like you until I saw that picture of her next to the leprechaun trap! Wow! What a cutie pie :)
