Virginia has a lot to offer when we seek it out. I know there is so much more we haven't discovered yet, but these are some of my close to home favorites...
I love the trails! We used to live right next to the WOD trail which was so nice! There are also trails that run through or behind every neighborhood. It is a runner/biker friendly area!
Mulberry trees and black berry bushes right off the trail! This was how we integrated Myra into liking fruit! It was exciting for her to pick her own berries. Liz was the first to make us try the mulberries (before that I thought they were just good for the birds), but they are good for us too! One Saturday morning the kids and I took a walk down the trail and picked half a bowl of black berries! (We enjoyed many more samplings while we picked). There are also farmers markets that are fun to shop.
We live in a very kid friendly area! They have some many activities and events that are specially for the little people. Mom's club also offers a plethora of activities to fill up my calendar.

We have some home teams that are so fun to watch. The CAPS (hockey), the NATS (baseball), and the Redskins (football).
Location. We are near big cities, but we don't have to drive far to get into the country. Fun camping areas are nearby. And it is beautiful here! I have fallen in love with the greenery and tall trees.
And we love, love our ward family and the friends we have made here!
As we are away from our support base, sometimes I need a reminder. We do enjoy it here. I am grateful to experience the goodness that is here in Virginia, and the only home my kids have known. We are busy making fun memories! This is where I need to keep my focus. So many blessings.
