Merry Christmas from our family!

The Poulton’s 2014

We are still located in Herndon, Virginia about 30 minutes outside of Washington D.C. and are offering free room and board to anyone who would like to come visit the Nation’s Capital, *some exclusions apply see fine print below.

Devin- Still doing the pest control thing, runs a non-profit mechanic shop on the side, and is still happily serving large doses of sarcasm in the Young Men’s youth group at church.  He was able to dominate the white tail deer this hunting season with two amazing kills.  One massive doe at least twice as big as your average Labrador and a buck that you would just have to see to believe how small its antlers were.

McKell- (It may be easier to list the things she has not excelled at this year, but we won’t.)  Somehow she manages to single handedly raise our three crazy kids and still bake homemade bread, provide service as a ward missionary, volunteer with our kids at an elderly center which smells surprisingly young and fresh, go to book club sometimes without  reading the entire book, and to Mom’s club activities.  The amazing thing is that she does most of these activities while herding three small children that according to their unbiased parents are turning out all right.

Bridger (4yr)- Bridger has inherited his Great Grandpa Poulton’s knack for rhyming by making up his own new words.  He has unending energy and loves to tell jokes over and over and over and over again.  He still has an outie belly button which the doctors said would go away when he was one or two but Bridger has always been pretty good about dragging things out.  He loves riding his bike and trying new tricks, like tire skids and one handed steering.  He’s also great at hiding, which seems to be more of a problem now that we’ve moved out of our town house and into a single family home.  Now that we have more than one hiding place this “game” can be quite time consuming.

Myra (2yr)-  Myra, Myra, Myra.  She is all girl and notices things that are pretty.  We call her “Sweet Myra” to her face.  She has so much spunk and a love for life.  She is really good at making one-sided deals with us.  Usually it goes something like, “Dad, here’s the deal!  You give me your phone and then I will give it back to you.  That’s the deal! OK!”  This year she has also improved leaps and bounds and falls on her balance bike.  She loves to do anything with Bridger and looks up to him in so many ways.  She’s turning into quite the singer at church and, as soon as she learns the words or how to read, will really add to the spirit of our congregation.

Sawyer (6mo)- He is starting to be so much fun as this Holiday Season approaches.  He used to be just smiles and poops and barfs but now he is starting to be really fun.  He laughs, gives open mouth kisses, and tends to death grip anything he can get his hands on, which is frequently someone’s hair or face.  He can now sit up for brief periods of time and is probably grateful for siblings to catch him when he falls when they are not the cause of his falls.

*Must be 18 years or older or accompanied by an adult.  Stay not to exceed two weeks without special approval.  Stay does not include guided tours unless you want to see something we haven’t, in which case it won’t be a tour, just more of a tag along.  Some meals may be provided but menus will not.  Lodging includes one queen size bed, four couches and a ton of floor space. Guests will also have access to their own bathroom, bidet can be installed upon request.
