The best way to have a dog is by puppy sitting! We really love other people's dogs! And we have a pretty good things going. Our friends think we are doing them a favor when we "puppy sit", but my kids think it is the best thing ever! It's great for my kids to feel like they have a dog, and for me not to have the total responsibility of a dog, plus I know after a few days, the dog will go home. It works out so well!
The kids love puppy kisses too! (totally gross!)
Lucky has been able to visit us several times! We had him over Thanksgiving and Christmas and one other time in between. Since he is a puppy he has lots of energy Bridger loves to run with him in our back yard, or chase him. Myra has become expert at creeping up behind the dog, and in one swift movement, catching him up in her arms. She has to be sneaky about it, because she likes to bounce and pretend like the dog is her baby, which I don't think any dog loves.
At present we have Jill's dog while they visit Utah. She is also a good dog, mellow, and doesn't mind my kids carrying her around. We're getting used to having a dog around the house, and my kids love it! When they pray they always remember to thank Heavenly Father for our dogs.
