Creepy Crawlers

Bridger has an obsession with bugs.  I think it is a natural boy obsession?  Maybe it comes from Devin telling Bridger to "tickle the spider"!  Either way he has no fear for creepy crawling things!  

We went to the park and he saw this big bug

then Myra and I went to play on the playground.  Bridger stayed behind, mesmerized, I think, by this bug.

I could see him from a distance with this bug thing.  He had a stick in hand and I thought he was poking it to death.  I told him a few times to be nice to the bug.  Then I came over to see what he was doing, and saw him playing with it, watching it crawl on his stick.  He seemed to really be studying it.  He played with it for 30 minutes straight instead of coming over to the playground.

This was his dialogue: "He likes me.  He likes you too"... "He's so cute.  He is very nice"... "He likes this game"... "He is hungry so he can eat this thing".

He watched it crawl onto the stick, and then he'd hold it up and watch it crawl up the stick.  Then he would hold it and examine its legs.  Completely enthralled...

Myra would get close (keeping about a foots distance) and then scream and run away. haha.  She warmed up to him (the bug) later on.

He brought it home and made it his pet for the day. First he put him in a bucket with a rock, a sock, and the stick.  Then he put it in Myra's baby stroller and gave this little bug roller coaster rides at top speeds.  Then he tried him in his Tonka truck.  I know this bug had to be wishing it was dead.  I made Bridger leave it outside overnight.  Then the next morning he resumed playing with it.  Until he decided to let the bug go swimming.

And then... "I didn't want him to die..."
