Poulton's Come to Visit

We had such a fun visit from Devin's sisters!  Hooray!!  They flew out for the weekend and toured a bunch in DC.  We did some touring with them too.  We did some shopping, we made lots of food, watched movies... When we were hanging at home my kids took them over.  Bridger and Myra loved playing with them, getting extra attention and extra story readers.  We are spoiled when visitors come!
DC sites: Lincoln Memorial, Natural History Museum, Arlington Cemetery, Mount Vernon
Always so impressed by Lincoln
I recently read the book "Team of Rivals", based off Lincoln's political career.  He was a great man!  It was clear to me, he was born with a calling.  I am super impressed with him, with the way he was self-educated, always trying to learn more, never taking offense, always kind and empathetic, his practiced story telling skills, his strong sense of right, and sure mind.  And when he stood alone in his thinking, he still could not be swayed.  His vision for this nation and his hard work made us the nation we are today.  God blessed him in this calling I am sure.
Lots. of. fun. !

Genius idea!  I'm gonna try this next year with my squash!
Learning Washington's method to separating the grain from the chaff.  Super interesting!  (Horses would run on the grain all day, in a circular room, the grain would fall through the slats to the floor below.  Then they sweep all the grain and chaff, and separate it using this basket...)
Bridger got to be the helper.
More pictures to come, I think... I was lame and didn't take many pictures with my camera.
We loved having them here!  Wishing them back!!
