We had a fun Easter! Bridger has so been looking forward to it! Actually, he's been looking forward to when Dallin comes out to visit (and Amy)! And to put it in context, since he started asking over a month ago, I told him they are coming after Easter. So the big day came! Easter that is... still waiting on Amy and Dallin.
Saturday morning we had a fun Easter egg hunt. There is a super kind and generous family in our ward who puts an egg hunt on every year for the young primary children. Bridger loved hunting for eggs with his best buddies! Myra was thrilled about it too. Hunting for eggs is so much fun... they loved it so much, when we got home, Bridger refilled all his eggs, and we hid them again! ... and again, and again, and again!
Sunday morning when they woke up, as is routine we read some stories before heading downstairs. The first one was a fictional Easter story about rabbits coloring Easter eggs, and then I told them the real story of Easter. Bridger was disappointed that Easter wasn't all about candy and eggs, but when I told him we could still color eggs too, he was okay with it all.
When we came downstairs, Bridger and Myra were thrilled to see the Easter decorations and a gift left on the table for each of them. I've been told I'm kind of an Easter hum bug, because I don't believe in the Easter bunny... but who needs a pretend bunny when you have a real rabbit?
When I was a kid, the Easter bunny wasn't a tradition... I knew the adults hid the Easter eggs, and I was unaware that the Easter bunny might play any other role, but Devin thinks that's terrible. So I tried to go somewhere in the middle... They each got a couple books, one church related, and then a just-for-fun book, wrapped in a ribbon with one smarty each... they already had so much candy from Saturday's hunt, they really didn't need anymore. They were thrilled.
Every year I cringe when it comes to egg coloring time, because (although the kids love it) I worry so much that the dye will spill all over everything. This year I realized that the dye doesn't have to go in paper cups! Glass cups are far more sturdy. Why I've never realized this I'm not sure. Probably because growing up we usually did it outside, or we were camping so we only had paper cups to fill. Anyway, glass cups were way better! No spills!

Happy Easter! On a church note... I love the new Easter videos the church put out this year! The Bible Videos and this one here: http://easter.mormon.org/ .
Monday morning Bridger ran eagerly downstairs, looked around and said, "Do you have to go to the airport to pick up Dallin?" Of course... Easter was over, Dallin and Amy should be here! He was so disappointed when I told him he still had to wait a week, "Oh, that will be a really long time!" He had apparently expected them to be at our house when he woke up. We can't wait for them to get here!
