Happy birthday to the best daddy my kids have ever had!
Bridger helped blow out the candle on dad's strawberry shortbread.
He didn't want a cake... so what do you do? Make biscuits for dinner and turn them into a dessert, and cover bananas and strawberries with chocolate. Not super exciting, but better than nothing.
Look Dad! I got you gum so I can eat it all!

Birthday Date
Sometimes I give the gift that I want. In this case, I wanted to go on a date. So prior to Devin's true birthday, I got the Calderwoods to participate in our surprise birthday date. Devin loves surprises! And I'm only exaggerating a little. We went to Medieval Times, which I remember loving so much as a kid. Inside the castle we ate a five course meal as we watched our knights fight to be the King's Champion! The show was impressive, although when I was a kid the dueling seemed real, I felt a little let down that it was all staged. It really was fun though. Great to be out on a date, and with friends! Next time we'll bring the kids though, because the whole time we were thinking about how much they would have liked it!
and we left through the sporting store in the mall. The guys had a shooting contest on the way out.
One more date I dragged Devin to. ;-)
Ice-scating.
We love doubling with the Calderwoods! Their kids are older, so when we go out, they provide the babysitter. Can't beat that! Great company always, and my kids are taken care of!
Sure do love spending time with my Devin! Still love him. I can't number the reasons why, or all the ways he makes me grin. But I've always known he is a good guy to have around. So glad he's mine.
